Using Surveillance and Detection Tools to Find a Lost Cat
Lost indoor-only cats are often incredibly elusive. It is not unusual for them to seem to vanish. You may zero sightings of your cat for a week or more. You may repeatedly search for your cat and not find them anywhere. Or you may put out a humane trap and catch nothing (or just other cats and wildlife). This does NOT necessarily mean your cat isn't around.
Most escaped indoor cats are in "survival mode" when lost. They are unlikely to respond to their owner or come out of hiding during daylight. For this reason, surveillance cameras and motion alarms can drastically increase the chances of locating and catching your lost cat.
